Need assistance in narrowing a thesis for Doisneau paper… can anyone help?
I am writing a research paper on Doisneau. My assignment for this 10 page paper is to obviously form an argument and build from there.
I find through my research that Doisneau is a very talented man. His photographs are simple and refined. They are Paris – the real Paris. Many of them are simply snapped out of the blue. Giving the admirer of his photos a real look at what Doisneau’s Paris was like. It is rather captivating I feel. He shows us Paris through todays modern era. He had a passion and recorded everyday ordinary life around him.
My issue is simple: I am at an end with producing a thesis.
My goal was to talk a bit about the origins of photography, moving on to Doisneau. I would like to end with a comparison of Doisneaus “The Kiss at the Hotel D’Ville” and Alfred Eisenstaedt’s “V Day Kiss.”
If anyone can give me some insight on a thesis and/or argument, that would be greatly appreciated.

Well, you could start with the idea that Doisneau’s Hotel de Ville shot didn’t just happen. He set it up. Not totally orchestrated every part, but hired the couple who are the principal subjects. If you’ve got this far on a research paper on Doisneau without finding that out, you have quite a lot of research to do yet.
Same thing applies to his ‘the sidelong glance’ shot. This could obviously not have been set up without the knowledge and co-operation of the gallery owner.
