Can someone help me with info on Printers?
I need a decent all round printer for large amounts of text and photos. i’m a photojournalist (freelance) and need to be able to produce a lot of my work myself.
I have a Sony A350 14mp camera, so im after one that can print photos particularly well and with good detail.
any information i should know before confronting the “sales man” would be helpful. i’ve tried just looking around on the internet in general, but it seems that just about everywhere automatically assumes you know what all the ‘technical jargon’ means, which evidently i don’t! =/

Since you’re talking photos you don’t want a laser printer. They cant hold a candle to an inkjet when it comes to photos. You probably want a printer which has 5 colors plus black since they are even better than the 3 colors plus black ones. And you might want to print larger size photos. So I would recommend the Epson 1400, which can do 13 x 19 photos.
The reason I choose Epson is because they have the best warranty. For a year they will fedex a replacement printer and pick up the old one should you need it.
I get ink for my epsons from http://www.ccs-digital.com for under $3 a cartridge and their reusable cartridges hold almost double the ink. I think my photos look great on photo paper but then again I’m not a professional. I also can’t promise they will last 100 years like Epson claims their ink will. My oldest photo is about 10 years old on plain paper but it still looks as good as when I printed it.
