best printer for b&w documents that’s reliable and no-hassle?
I am a normal person with absolutely no need for color printing, printing photos, or anything other than printing out normal quality black and white text documents. I also have no need for speed. I want a printer that meets the following criteria:
1. No-hassle – none of this stuff where full color cartridges have to be on at all times, or requiring that test pages be printed, or unnecessary “self-cleaning” etc. Old printers never required this and I don’t see why new ones do.
2. Will be reliable so I can count on it to print when I need it to, without printing out screwy pages or having random errors. I can handle the occasional paper jam but its inexcusable for a modern printer to suffer any other error.
3. (optional) easy to refill cartridges or ink is not expensive
4. (optional) inexpensive to buy.
5. (optional) easy to repair if something does go wrong
So does anyone know of such a printer?
Actually if you can find an HP 4000 laser printer they are awesome! I have had one for 10 years now and it is an absolute workhorse! The cartridges are about a 100 bucks, but they last for like 5K to 10K pages, so you won’t be replacing them often. And they should now only run you about 200 dollars for the printer itself.
